Uncle Melvin….As fine a man as there ever was. He was always in good spirits and young at heart.Known to be faithful to his community, church and his family. I didn’t see him much in later years but when I did, he always had a big smile on his face and a readiness to reconnect. He was also a very sharp dresser! I also was in awe of his faithfulness to our church. We love you Melvin……Linda Garrett Dean and family

You were the head of our family and leaded it well. A great husband, father and grandfather. You had a heart of gold , always helping others. Cutting grass for your neighbors who couldn’t themselves. So many things you did for others that was unspoken by you but blessed others. So faithful in your church. You had a smile that was contagious. We love and will miss you tremendously. Love Paris and Wanda Garrett

    Pastor R.L. Addison says

It is with tremendous sadness that I reflect on Trustee Melvin L. Garrett.

I had the unique priviledge of being his Pastor for many years, we worked together, and prayed together. He was a Christian churchman par-excellence, an avid sportsman, a very kind and gentle man who loved his family and was faithful to his church.

Trustee Garrett was supremely conscientious and disciplined, and fastidiously neat in his dress and always organized, with a self – deprecating smile and sense of humor.

Trustee Garrett was a highly valued officer of his church, and honest who always exemplified leadership skills.
He lived a remarkable life, well spent, and well beloved among his peers.

May flights of angels take him to his rest.
    Pastor R. L. Addison
