To the Powell family, you have my sincere thoughts and prayers for the tragic loss of Melvin, and may you find comfort in his precious memories.

Like David, I’ve known Melvin since we were in the 3rd grade, and he was part of my Park Place 36th and 37th street crew, and we hung out in the neighborhood every day. We walked to and from school as a crew, played football, laughed and joked together… good childhood memories.

I would see Melvin sometime when I would come in town, and we would catch up, and I will miss his presence. Melvin was a good guy, good friend, and loved his family.

    Rest In Peace old friend.
