Melody LaFrances Davis Copeland

Today we celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved Melody LaFrances Davis Copeland “Frances.” Melody was called home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2023 at the age of 64.

Melody was born Suffolk, VA and raised in Portsmouth, VA by her mother and father, Floyd and Ernestine Davis. She attended Cradock High School and went on to become a wife and mother. She was a fashionista Queen who loved her jewelry, clothes, make-up, hair and her leopard. She found a church home at Greater Mount Zion of Portsmouth, VA.

Melody leaves to cherish her memories, a loving husband of 32 years, Angelo Copeland of Portsmouth; son, Keith Davis; three daughters, Nichole Davis of Virginia Beach, Natasha Davis of Portsmouth and Navita Davis of Portsmouth; grandson, Marquel Stith of Portsmouth and sister, Brenda Peebles of Portsmouth.  Melody also leaves to cherish her memories, twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

Melody is predeceased by her father, Floyd Lee Davis; mother, Ernestine J. Brown Davis; sister, Pamela Polk; her grandson, Jabari Shawn Davis

Melody will be truly missed.

    To the family. We are so sorry for your loss. The death of a love one can be extremely difficult to cope with. Many have found comfort in the promise found there at Acts 24:15. There it speaks about the Resurrection. Do draw comfort in the promise found there and please know you and your family will be in our prayers…MaryAnn
