On Thursday, January 16th, our beloved sister, mother, aunt, friend, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mrs. Maureen Patricia West Haskins was called by God to come home and be with him to have an eternal place to undergo joy, peace, and rest.
Maureen Patricia West Haskins was a native of Berkley in Norfolk Virginia, she attended Norfolk Public School System. She started college late in life and graduated from Norfolk State University with a master’s degree in Elementary Education. She retired as an elementary school teacher after almost 30 years with Norfolk Public Schools.
Maureen was born to the late Fred O’Neal and Laura Lottie Mae West on October 12, 1938. Maureen was predeceased by her grandparents, Fred West, Sr., and Lula West, her parents, Fred West, Jr. and Lottie West, William R. Haskins, Sr., her daughter, Wanda Renee Davis (Wayne), her son, Gary Eugen Haskins, her sister, Shirley Hicks (Archie), brothers, Fred West, III and Michael West, and her cousin, Rhea Weaver.
Maureen is survived by her son, William R. Haskins, Jr., (Gwen), brother, Ronald West (Brenda), and her brothers, Reuben West and Wayne S. Davis. A wealth of nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
We thank God for the life and legacy of our beloved. Maureen Patricia West Haskins.
