Marzell Sims

The Lord called his loving daughter Marzell Sims home on July 2, 2024.

Marzell Sims was born July 30, 1935, to the late Ira Carter and Charlene Buckingham in Aberdeen, Mississippi. She was raised by her Aunt Leona Howell.

She came to know Christ at an early age. On October 14, 1961 she was united in marriage with Will B. Sims, and in that union seven children were born. She was employed at Brann’s Steakhouse in Grand Rapids Michigan BEFORE relocating to Norfolk, Virginia in 1980. She worked for Farm Fresh grocery store as a cook; of the best fried chicken before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ira Carter and Charlene Buckingham; one son, Kevin Sims; Aunt Leona Howell, and Will B. Sims.

Marzell leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Carolyn House (Franklin) of Kentwood, Michigan; five sons, Willie Sims of Norfolk, Virginia, Jeff Sims, Steve Sims (Lillie), Dwayne Sims (Felicia) all of Grand Rapids Michigan, and Michael Sims of Dallas, Texas; and host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a recently born great-great-granddaughter and a special friends Cynthia, Cat, Anita, Ruby, Phyllis, Ron and a host of others.
