On Saturday, February 20, 2021, our Heavenly Father called from labor to reward our mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother. She left this earth peacefully surrounded by her son at her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mary was born in Littleton, North Carolina to late Walter and Rosie Watson. She was educated in North Carolina and Virginia public school systems and attended Tidewater Community College. She was a long-time faithful member of Rock Church in Virginia
Beach, Virginia. Mary developed a love for church at an early age because her grandfather, the Rev. Sam Watson took her to church as a small child.
In addition to attending church, Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She enjoyed traveling the world and seeing new places. She also loved gardening in the spring to add character to her front lawn. In 1960, Mary was united in holy matrimony to Alejandro Guadalupe, Jr. who precedes her in death. This union was blessed with two wonderful children, Anita, and Ricky. Mary retired from the Virginia Beach School Board Administration in 2007. Simultaneously, to the Virginia Beach School System, Mary was a faithful employee at Stihl company for many years. In addition, she was employed at the Ford Motor Company.
Mary trusted in God for she knew from whence cometh her help, her help cometh from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. The Lord shall preserve her soul for evermore.
Mary is survived by her loving family: daughter, Anita Guadalupe-Wilson of Collingdale PA, son, Alejandro Ricardo Guadalupe of Virginia Beach, Virginia, brother, James Watson of Norfolk, Virginia, sister, Pat Hodge of Calverton, Maryland, two granddaughters, Ashley Jackson (Tramaine) of Philadelphia, PA and Anissa Wilson of Collingdale, PA, nephew, Albert Hodge (Patty) of Oxon Hill, Maryland, three nieces, Janet McMillian of Portsmouth, Virginia, Michelle Haamid (Isaiah) of Jamestown, North Carolina, Rosa Davis (Everick) of McLeansville, North Carolina, two great grandchildren, Jada and Joseph, nieces, nephew, others relatives and many friends. We will miss her earthly presence.
