Marlene was a dear and special friend who probably never knew the positive impact she had on so many. I have heard from a multitude of people who are also grieving the passing of this special woman. Ashlee and Bailey were so important to her and Jeff and I pray for your comfort during these challenging times.

I worked with Marlene many years in the PICU at CHKD. She was such a special friend and we created great memories with all of our practical jokes. There are those one of a kind people that you meet in your lifetime that you will always love and never forget and Marlene was one of them. May God give all of her family comfort and strength.

To the family of Marlene Fulgeon,

Our sincere condolences to Ashlee and the entire family of Marlene. Our family and the family of Marlene’s go so far back as we are actually family. The mighty days of “DIGGS PARK” is where is all started. As Marlene and her siblings lost their mother so early in life as we were all so young, our mother, the beloved “Ellen Matthews’ helped each one of you in her own special way, as a mother would. Also, to add icing to the cake of our bond as two of the larger families in the neighborhood of ‘DIGGS PARK’ as there were many that adorned the siblings list of 10 or more.,..lol. We have our beloved niece Sherell and her children that are the daughter and grandchildren of our brother, Moe Shron Matthews-‘Moe Bean’. With all that said, we as the ‘Matthews clan” just wanted to share a few words for Ashlee as she continue to live without her dear mother, Marlene. May you continue to keep all the fond memories of your mother deep within your heart and soul.
Many blessings and our sincere love, ‘The Matthews Family”
Kieda, Kendra, Ukie, Dushawn, Estusei, Big O, Vonnie, Connie, Tolbert, and of course, from heaven “Moe Bean” & momma, “Ellen”

Marlene was very special to me.

It took two weeks to get to the point where i could write this, as I am still stunned at losing her. From the moment we met in 1982, I knew she was an extraordinary person with whom I was lucky to have made acquaintance. A day hasn’t gone by that I haven’t thought of her, but I do firmly hold the belief that I will see her again.

    Rest easy Sweetie!
