Marilyn L. Rue

On January 24, 2025, Marilyn L. Rue departed this world for a better one of eternal peace. She was born December 29, 1953, to the late Robert L. Goode, Sr. and Louise H. Goode in Norfolk, VA. She attended Portsmouth Public Schools and the Portsmouth School of Nursing. Her nursing career spanned over 36 years.  Marilyn also obtained her Pharmacy Technician degree and license.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jerome L. Goode and Michael A. Goode, Sr., and a sister, Yolanda J. King.

Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 46 years, Kenneth R. Rue, Sr. of VA Beach, VA, and two sons, Lamont R. Goode (Courtney) of Arlington, TN, and Kenneth R. Rue, Jr. of Rocky Mt., NC, and daughter, Kimberly Rue Spence (Christopher) of VA  Beach, VA, three brothers, Nichola Hite, Roger Goode of  Portsmouth, VA, and Robert Goode, Jr. of Petersburg, VA, and two sisters, Felicia Goode-Alstork of Chesapeake, VA and Andrea Ford (Norman) of Danville, VA, seven grandchildren, Zavier, Isaiah, Kendra, Kayla, Makenna, Jordan, and Kai and one great-grandson, Elijah. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, family, and friends.
