Marian Minton

Mrs. Marian Morrison Minton “Pie” departed this life early morning on her birthday Thursday, August 20, 2020 at DePaul Hospital in Norfolk, VA. She was born in Fairfield, NC. She was the daughter of the late Kermit Morris and Mildred Mackey. She attended school in Elizabeth City, NC. Marian was the loving mother of all her children, she could see know wrong in them. She touched the hearts of everyone she knew she would open her doors to anyone in need whether it was for food, shelter, money, shoulder or love it didn’t matter that was her heart of gold, and for that we will forever be thankful. Marian accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at a early age.

Marian was preceded in death by her children, Isaiah Minton, Veronica Mattis, Joseph Minton, Lena Minton, Paul Minton, four grandchildren, Demetrius Howard, Cora Minton, Tauwanda Minton, Debra Morris, brother, James Alvis Morris, two aunts, Ovely Lindsay and Addie Stewart, uncle, Carlos Mackey and her longtime best friend, Charles B. Smith. Left to cherish her precious memories are her five daughters, Sylvia Harris (James), Rhonda McDonald, Mildred Minton, Pauline Matthew, Michelle Minton; four sons, Michael Minton (Ella), James Minton (Phyllis), Bruce Minton, Brian Minton. A host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

“God saw the road getting rough and the hills were too hard to climb, he gently closed her eyes and whispered peace by thine”.

      I love you grandma! Thank you for everything! You taught us to love no matter what. You were truly heaven sent grandma you saved soo many people you gave to soo many people and you were loved by soo many people. The pain is unbearable but you’ve gained your wings you did your part and now your home.I promise, I’ll continue to make you proud. We will teach our children to love hard just like you taught us.Rest in heaven love you always! Sending love to our family.

    My condolences to the Minton family, ur mom was always a good & kind lady. I lived next door to her for a while she was the backbone of her family, putting her family before herself. I pray for strength for the family, for u have learned that from the best.
