Mrs. Margaret Meeks Riddick 84, of Chesapeake, Va. departed this life on Monday, July 20, 2020 peacefully. Margaret is the daughter of the late Eddie Lee and Larusha Meeks. She graduated from George Washington Carver High School. Margaret received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Saint Augustine University. She devoted 35 years of her life teaching within the public-school systems. She retired from Norfolk Public Schools as an Elementary Education Professional. Margaret is a Jehovah’s witness of the Grassfield congregation Chesapeake, Va.

Margaret married Major F Riddick October 4, 1974. Margaret and her husband were faithful members of the Huntersville Senior Citizen group in Norfolk, Va. for 8 year. Margaret was also an associate member of her husband’s graduating class, Booker T. Washington class of 44 and 45.

Margaret was the eldest of her three siblings Cleveland V. Meeks of Rocky Mount, NC., Mamie M. Mayo of Tarboro, N. C., and Eddie Meeks of New York. Eddie preceded her in death.She leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memory her husband of 46 years Major Franklin Riddick Sr. of Norfolk, Va., and he devoted daughter Dywanna Harris Copeland (Ricardo) of Chesapeake Va., along with bonus children Major F Riddick Jr. (Manerva) of Price George County, MD, Katrina Riddick of Baltimore, MD. Grandchildren Kenya Harris of Chesapeake VA., Major. Keenan B. Harris USAF (Morgan) of Edwards AFB, CA., Myrica Riddick of Prince George County, MD., and cherished great grandchildren Kason Jones, Kaiden Harris, and Khristian Harris. We cannot leave out her extended family and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loveable friends.

    We were neighborhood friends thru elementary and high school. She graduated from high school with my two brothers, Tommie & James Staton. She was always a loving, caring person.
