Margaret Elizabeth Campbell, 88 of Norfolk, Va. peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at home with her family and friends celebrating her life.
She was born to Russell Washington and Maggie Riddick on September 12, 1932 in the Oakwood section of Norfolk, Va.
Margaret enjoyed her life of being the mother of eleven children. As an only child her prayer was to have many offspring to love with the guidance of the Lord.
She was born into The Pentecostal Church of God under the leadership of Apostle W. J. Peterson in 1961. She cherished her time with her church family where she served as Head Usher for many years. She eagerly and patiently trained young ushers the proper way to serve the members and guests. She also served as the Administrator for the church scholarship fund for many years, which allowed many to pursue a higher education.
Margaret was generous with her time and befriended many of her neighbors and passersby in her community. She always greeted people with a warm smile and words of encouragement. She was pre-deceased by her husband Melvin Campbell and son Barrington Campbell.
Left to cherish her memory are her surviving children: Taunya Little (Jerome), Marion Hardy (Julius) Michael Campbell, (Barbara) Sharon Cuffee (Dennis) Vernice Stark, Russell Campbell, Carl Campbell (Cheryl) Sherry Ross (Steven), Nadine Gilliam (Jimmy), Gerard Campbell (LaTasha) and Gladys Gregory (like a daughter), 26 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

April 8, 2021 at 2:11 pmMay God bless her spirit. When you have eleven biological children it’s impossible not to become everybody’s mom, aunt, great aunt and Grandmother …and that’s exactly what she was to all of us. We love her and will miss a very deeply. God’s blessings, peace and strength to the family.

April 8, 2021 at 4:06 pmI met Ms. Margaret at a family reunion and spent pretty much the entire time talking to her. I had a wonderful time and enjoyed talking with her so much. She kept me smiling and laughing, and I felt like I had known her for years and like I was a member of the family. You will surely be missed, Ms. Margaret. Your job here is complete…well done.
