Thursday, July 14, 2022, Manuel Junior Roundtree, affectionately known as Gene, was called home to be with the Lord. Gene was born in Norfolk County to the late Manuel and Rosa Roundtree.
Gene attended Portsmouth Public Schools and retired from the City of Chesapeake after thirty years of dedicated service.
Gene was predeceased by both parents, brothers: James, Horace, Willie and Curtis and sisters: Maggie, Mildred and Rosa Mae.
Left to cherish his memory are his three children: LaTanya, Emanuel and Toy; four granddaughters: Randall, Nastassia, Destiny and DeAsia and two great granddaughters: Harmony and Melodi, and sister: Jamie Ann.
Also left to cherish his memory is his longtime companion, Shirley White, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to LaTisha, Amanda, Dr. Chadda, VPA and Bon Secours Hospice for all of your care and attention during Gene’s final days.
