After a brief illness, Magdlene passed away on February 27, 2025. Magdlene passed away surrounded by loved ones and departed peacefully. Mag, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was born in Chesapeake, Virginia, on April 1, 1938.
Mag was a proud graduate of Crestwood High School class of 1956. Mag married her husband, Clarence C. Knight Sr., in 1960, and their union lasted more than 60 years until his passing. From this union, two children were born, Regina Yvette Knight (deceased) and Clarence C. Knight, Jr. Mag worked for the Virginia Beach Public School system, where she retired after 22 years of service. Mag enjoyed her position with the school system and made some of her most cherished memories helping others. Upon retirement, Mag continued to enjoy cooking and taking care of her family. Mag enthusiastically enjoyed shopping! Mag participated in numerous shopping trips to different states, shopping for family and window shopping as she took her daily morning walks through the mall with friends.
Mag was predeceased by her parents, David Sorrell and Carrie Jackson-Sorrell, and her brothers, David, James, and George Sorrell.
Mag is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kori Knight, and four grandchildren, Tray, Kaylee, Olivia, and Breanne. Mag is survived by two brothers, William and John Sorrell. She is also is survived by two sisters, Mary Stephenson and Mildred Newby (Purcell), and a sister-in-law, D. Jean Sorrell. And a host of other family members and friends.
