Mable Ernestine Wilkins Knight entered into her eternal rest on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 2:19 am in her home at 2077 S. Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA.

Ernestine, as she was affectionately called, was born in Norfolk, VA on August 18, 1928. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Virginia State University. She taught second grade in Virginia Beach Public Schools and retired after 30 years of service. Mother Knight was a faithful believer and worked faithfully in the United Holy Church until her health impaired her service.

She was married to the late Deacon Frank Knight for 65 years and from their union, they raised three daughters and were loving and caring parents.

Mother Knight is survived by her 3 daughters, Frances Knight Thompson (Ronald), Rosalyn Knight Humphrey (Keith), Angela Knight-Davis (Morris), 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
