On October 5, 2023 God dispatched His Angel to welcome His precious saint Mable Edmonds Scott, to her eternal resting place. She was born September 18, 1928 to her parents the late Mr, James and Pearline Edmonds. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Elder Wilford Scott; her son, Eugene Carney Jr.; grandson, Tevis Ellis; her five brothers, Randolph St. Clair Edmonds Woodley Edmonds, William Ellsworth Edmonds, Alexander Edmonds, Thornton Edmonds; her three sisters, Velma Holland, Bernice
Meredith and Dorothy Cromwell.

Accepted Christ on August 19, 1962 . 1st marriage to Eugene T Carney Sr. bore the union of (2) children Angelus M. Carney (Pluke) and Eugene T. Carney Jr. (Bubba)
Second marriage was to Elder Pastor Wilford Scott. She was a true servant of GOD, who loved God’s word and lived each day by the word and interacted with people in a way that pleased God.

A very powerful woman of God!! She lived a committed life to Christ, which was led by the Holy Spirit An exemplary wife, commendable and excellent in all she did .

In the year of 1962 she became a member of Holy Trinity Church #1 in Portsmouth VA, during her tenure she served as a Senior Choir Member Beginners Sunday School Teacher and The Chair Person of the Hospitality Committee and was Church Mother of Holy Trinity Church #2 under the leadership of Dr. John W. Fulston Sr. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning decorating,singing and dressing.

She loved feeding and serving people with love and dignity ensuring they receive the very best! She had a smile and personality that attracted many. A woman of wisdom and Integrity and exemplified grace and Mercy in spite of who you were. She was a homemaker and care giver for over 60 years.

Left to cherish her legacy: daughter, Angelus Ellis; grandsons, Anthony Odom (Essie), Kawan Allen, Dawan Allen, and Chris Ellis; great grandson, Dante Warren (Dionshay), Anthony Odom, Jamel Odom, Keon Odom, Herschel Odom, Tysha Odom, Alexis Odom, Sheniqua Ellis, Eulonzo Ellis and Kawan Allen Jr., and and three great great grandchildren, Amaria Rayner, Chase Warren, Yuri Warren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

    Words cannot describe the loss we are experiencing. Those times of joy are gone but not forgotten. But one day, we will all meet again, never to depart. Oh, what a glorious day that would be!
