Mrs. Lumina Pearl Jones was fondly known as Pearl. She was the daughter of the late Rosanell Jackson and the late Johnny Bellamy. She was born on April 29, 1937 in Longs, South Carolina. Very peacefully and surrounded by family, on Saturday, July 27, 2019, the almighty God in His infinite wisdom, summoned Lumina Pearl Jones to a serene sleep while surrounded by love ones. Pearl was joined in matrimony to the late Warren Hardy Jones, Sr. and to this union five children were raised.
Pearl was educated in the Horry County School District. At an early age, she joined and was baptized at Freemont Missionary Baptist Church located in Longs, South Carolina.
For over twenty years, Pearl was employed by Bennie’s Crabhouse in Chesapeake, VA. After retiring, she became a private care giver to the Grant Family. She also served the community as the neighborhood candy lady, child care provider, and resident gardener.
Mrs. Lumina Pearl Jones leaves to cherish her sweet memories three daughters, Vermell Sessoms (Desmond) of Chesapeake, VA, Ms. Gloria McGruder of Norfolk, VA, Ms. Joyce Baker of Portsmouth, VA; two sons, Mr. Raynell Jones, Sr. (Averill) of Virginia Beach, VA and Mr. Bernard (Jean) Jones of Chesapeake, VA. and her brother, Willie Jr. Bellamy (Mary), of Longs, SC.
