Lula Mae Mack

Lula Mae Mack was born to the late Matthew Mack and the late Azzilee Brown, in Hartsville, South Carolina. Upon moving to Norfolk, Virginia, with her mother, Ms. Mack attended Booker T. Washington High School.

Ms. Mack was employed by McCrory’s, and following her employment there, she was employed with Norfolk State University in the campus cafeteria. She was known on the campus as “Miss Lula”, where God blessed her with the gift of baking, as she baked rolls, cakes, pies and other pastries to the delight of everyone who tasted the delicious desserts that she created. She felt that God had blessed her with that gift. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays numerous people would request her to bake something for them. She later retired from the cafeteria service on the campus.

Ms. Mack began her Christian journey as a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk, Virginia, and served as an usher on the J.W. Matthew’s Usher Board. Later on, she joined Total Life Church, and was a faithful member until she was unable to attend church due to her health. She loved the Lord, always praying for her family and friends. She knew God, and God knew her.

She was proceeded in death not only by her parents, but also preceded in death by grandchildren Pamela Hill, Matthew Mack and Chelsea Mack.

She is survived by her four sons, Paul A. Mack, Norman P. Mack and David I. Mack, of  Norfolk, Virginia, and John D. Mack, of  Edgewater Park, New Jersey. Two sisters, Mrs. Amertia Williams (Paul), of Durham, North Carolina, and Velda Mack, of Hartsville, South Carolina. Grandchildren Sara Joy Hill, Sebastian Harrison, Phillip Mack, Latoya Sivels and Harmany Mack. Great Grandchildren Sebria Harrison, Sebastian Harrison and Aamir Hill.  Aunts Mrs. Virginia Lincoln, of Richmond, Virginia and Mrs. Luella Benjamin, of Hartsville , South Carolina. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

    My God hold the entire Mack family together today. We lived across the hall from Ms Lula for 14 years. She was such a a loving friend. We will miss her terribly. Love Earl and Kelly in Apt. J
