Lovone J. Wynn

Sunrise: February 1, 1992

Sunset: June 17, 2021

Lovone was so much more than words can contain. He was a dedicated father, a loving husband to his new bride, and a force of nature.

He was born February 1, 1992, in Norfolk, Virginia to Mildred Ricks Cherry and Norman Wynn. Exactly one year to the day, after his parents suffered the tragic loss of his twin siblings they knew the joy of their new son.

Lovone graduated from Ryan Academy in 2009. While his initial goal was to become a radiologist, his love of the outdoors led him instead to a career as a Merchant Mariner in dredging along the Virginia and East Coast. Being beside the water helped him to find peace. He recently made the entrepreneurial effort of starting his own business T&K Residential Services with his wife.

He loved music as both a listener and performer with eclectic tastes that ranged from Jazz to Rock.  He enjoyed golf and was a keen chess player and one of the City of Norfolk’s founding members of the Norfolk Initiative for Chess Excellence where he gave his time to teach others how to play the game. He was a true King who put his best foot forward in all that he did.

He was predeceased by his siblings Norman and Nytisha Wynn, his Grandparents Samuel and Mildred Ricks, and Henry Farrell.

Lovone is grieved by his father and mother, Norman Wynn and Mildred Ricks Cherry, his new bride of Nydia Wynn, and his beloved children Czarina Wynn, Nikolai Wynn, Braelyn Costa, Jayden Holland, DeVahn Everett, and Raheem Ratliff.

Also left behind to cherish his memory are his Grandparents Carrie Farrell and Henry Wynn Sr, his siblings Wayde Ricks Sr. and Tracia Jones, Aunt Lataisha Wynn, Uncle Henry Wynn Jr, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Donations can be made to the Lovone Wynn King of Kings Chess Scholarship via GoFundMe.
