Lottie Ledine “Phine” Bazemore was born April 20, 1947 in Dunn, NC, the only child of Hassel and Annie Mae Watson. She was called home to glory on December 6, 2021 at the age of 74, predeceased by her husband, Joseph T. Bazemore, Jr., brother John Brewer, and sister Evelyn Holloway.
Lottie graduated from Crestwood High School in Chesapeake in 1966, attended Norfolk State University, and married her high school sweetheart Joseph T. Bazemore, Jr. – to whom she was married for 42 years before his passing in 2014.
Lottie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and became a women of great faith and virtue, using and believing in the power of prayer in every aspect of her life. She was a partner of New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church of Chesapeake, Virginia and she enjoyed fellowship with the congregation as she attended and enjoyed services faithfully.
Left to cherish her life are her children, Carmen, Joseph, III (Tina), and Sharnail (Michael), two grandchildren, Drew Calloway, Jr. and Joseph T. Bazemore, IV, sister, Margaret Harper, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Those she leaves are blessed to share the memory of her life.
Lottie was always known for putting others’ needs before her own. Her generous spirit and gentle demeanor touched and inspired all who knew her.
A loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, she will be loved and missed dearly but never forgotten, for in the minds and hearts of those who loved and knew her, she shall forever remain.
