To the family I extend my heartfelt condolences. Lettie and I worked together for years and we watched each other’s children grow into adulthood and start families of their own. We shared so many laughs together. If she was your friend, she was a friend indeed. I pray that God will comfort and strengthen you during this time of sorrow and grief.

What a great loss to the south side community and to humanity, for Lettie was an Angel in disguise. My humble condolences goes out to the Freeman and Askew clan. It had been 40 some years since I last laid my eyes upon my sweet, smiling friend, that is, until seeing Lettie at Food Lion. That was the last week in January, 2024. What fun early, school years I had with Lettie, the Askews and Freemans. RIP Old friend.
