Lawrence Towe, aged 76, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on September 1, 1948, in Chesapeake, VA. He was the cherished son of Joeseph and Josephine Towe. He graduated from Carver High School in Chesapeake and attended Norfolk State University. Lawrence served in Vietnam and was a Retired Veteran of the US Army whose life was dedicated to serving his country, family, and community service, which he donated to. Lawrence will be remembered for donating to the less fortunate communities.
He loved his family; he loved to walk and eat. He was a man of fewer words, but when he did speak, it was tons of wisdom. Lawrence’s greatest joys were time spent with family, holidays, and summer afternoons walking down Liberty Street in Chesapeake and Tidewater Drive in Norfolk.
He had special bonds with his favorite niece, Michelle Towe Harris, who visited him often and took care of him until his last breath. She brought so much light to his life. Their shared bond and special memories will forever be treasured by those who knew their closeness, along with His Special Cousin, Joyce Cuffee, who was dear to him.
Lawrence Towe was preceded by Joseph Towe, Josephine Towe, Joe Towe, Alustus Towe, Jimmy Towe, Charles Towe, Barbra Towe, and Victor Towe. Lawrence is survived by his sister, Louise (Towe) Lynch; his brother, Jerry Towe; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many extended relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Lawrence Towe’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

The Towe and Robinson families go way back, our homes were back to back of each other, and many Christians mornings, we met at the fence to say what we received. Our mothers were dear friends and we felt like family growing up together. It is with this since of love that I send this message with sadnes. Yet, we know Lawrence is ok now, resting in God’s loving arms and May each of you be comforted in this blessed assurance. In sympathy and love,
