Latasha Latrice Lillian Henderson

Sunrise: May 31, 1981

Sunset: February 29, 2024

Latasha Latrice Lillian Henderson was born on May 31, 1981 to the parents of Yvonne and Thomas Hart, the youngest of seven children. Latasha passed away on February 29, 2024 surrounded by her husband and loving family, as she peacefully breathed her last breath on this earth.

Latasha‘s journey through life was marked by her devotion and love for God, family and her passion to protect others. It’s no wonder Latasha pursued a career in nursing and armed security. Latasha had a heart of gold, and would give you the clothes off of her back. Her kindness, encouragement, keen sense of humor and love to see others succeed in life, influenced countless lives. Even on her bed of affliction, Latasha continued to lead people to Christ and share the goodness of the Lord.

Latasha graduated as Valedictorian from Indian Creek-Welcome Baptist School in Chesapeake, Virginia. Latasha was an excellent and prolific Orator. Latasha was known throughout the church community for her great oration and speaking skills. She competed in many competitions, representing Saint Mark United Church of Christ, where she won and secured first place trophies every time she competed.

Latasha married the love of her life, Tony Henderson, Sr on June 17, 2000. Tony never left Latasha’s side as she called on the name of the Lord while she fought and bravely battled her sickness. Together they nurtured six wonderful children.

Latasha was a member of St. Mark, UCC until her adult years and later joined Kingdom Investing Outreach Center. Both churches are one big Family who loved and adored Latasha.

Predeceased by her father, Thomas J Hart, Latasha‘s legacy is carried on by her children: Ariana (Calvin), Entonian (Chantel), Saniya, Isaiah, Tatiana and Xavier, her mother: Yvonne Hart, and siblings: Deltarnez (Joy), Tonyea (Phillip), Angel, Keyoughtey (Calvin), Tyranashay (Jimmy), and Schwanda (Will). She also leaves behind a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who love and will miss her dearly.

There are no goodbyes for us, for Latasha will always be in our hearts. She would have us praise God today, and rejoice in her entering heaven. Her strength, beautiful heart and intelligent mind touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Rest well, our Love. Until we meet again.

2 Timothy 4:7  “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.”

Tasha, I remember when you were born. You and Schwanda were dear to my heart in those days and I never could have imagined that you’d be with Jesus before me. As you rejoice with the Father, my prayers are here with Tony, your Mom and siblings, as well as your kids. What a day of rejoicing when we all come together again. Say “Hi” to daddy (Thomas Hart).
