Cherishing His Memories

Larry Hinton, Sr., the oldest son, of George Lee Hinton, Jr. and Maybelle Hinton was born on November 27, 1955 in Portsmouth, VA. He attended Portsmouth Public Schools. On Wednesday, April 14, GOD called a dear father, grandfather, brother, and friend to his heavenly rest.

Larry drove commercial trucks and maintained various construction jobs over the years. He spent his last years of employment in the landscaping business and was known as a perfectionist in his work. Brother Larry was a member of Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA. He had unconditional love for his family, children, and grandchildren. In addition, he adored a special daughter-in-law, Dawanda Jones, who cared for him throughout the years. He always kept a positive attitude and was rarely upset or angered. You could count on him to see the brighter side of things. His admirable qualities will forever be remembered and missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Katie Morrison, and his brother, George Lee Hinton, III. Larry leaves to cherish his memory, his former wife, Alta Wadulla; his sons, Larry Hinton, Jr. (Shemika) and Quavadis Hinton (Tanisha); his daughter, Andrea; and his siblings, Phyllis White, Gregory Hinton aves behind his pride and joy, his grandchildren: Darrie’ L., Rashad, ZyKeara, Jalen, Ahzyah, Micah, Skylar, Dayana and Kannon; three great-grandchildren: Jaden, Bryson, and Brayden and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
