Larry Brock Locust

Larry Brock Locust affectionately known as “Bobo”, was called home to eternal rest August 8, 2019. Born in Bronx New York July 17, 1966 to China and Robert Locust. Larry grew up in Norfolk Virginia and attended Norfolk city schools. In 1987 he joined the Merchant Marines and traveled the world having had many stories to tell of his travels. In the late 1990’s Larry moved to Washington D.C. following his beloved sister Robin. Larry met Karma Clayton in 2009 and they were married January 20, 2013. In 2010 Larry graduated from UDCCC Bertie Backus Campus in HVAC Technology.

On March 25, 2017 Larry gave his life to Christ and joined Riverside Baptist Church in Oxen Hill, Maryland where he was baptized. Larry truly loved DC, GoGo music and specifically Chuck Brown. His favorite Chuck Brown songs were “Misty” and “Wind Me Up Chuck”. Larry was a big man with an even bigger heart, he was a giving person, who loved to laugh and joke. Larry had a big sweet tooth and always had a stash of candy and ice cream for himself and his grandchildren. Larry was a hard worker and worked in construction, hospitality and as a part time Uber driver. Larry was preceeded in death by his parents, China and Robert, sisters Judy Faye Williams, Linda Banks, and Robin Adams. Larry is survived by his wife Karma, daughter Natasha China Bourn, brothers Joseph Locust of New York, Steven Locust (Pam) of Norfolk, sisters Terry Carothers and Angel Locust, of Norfolk, brothers in laws, Jessie Adams, Temple Hills, MD, Agin Saalam, Pittsburg California and Rasul Rollin Clayton (Astu) , Akron OH, step children Velvette, Jameel, Marvin and Winner, grandchildren Jaylen, Samaria, Daijon, Marvin Jr., Marley, Aamir, Justice and Journey. Larry is also survived by many friends, nieces, nephews and cousins by the dozens.
