Sunset: April 13, 2025

On April 13, 2025, Lakesha “KeeKee” Yvonne Mills was called home gracefully.  Our heavy hearts are uplifted by the memories of her charming smile, contagious laugh, and unforgettable presence.

Lakesha was born on January 18, 1974, to the late Robin D. Porter and Rudolph Lewis. She was raised in Portsmouth, VA, by her parents, Willie and Robin Porter. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School (1992) and received certifications from TCC and ECPI. She had a long career with Canon ITS before becoming permanently disabled. She also enjoyed working part-time as a Teacher Assistant at Toras Chaim. Lakesha’s love and devotion to her two daughters, Imani Mills and Raven Mills, were incomparable. The birth of her one and only granddaughter, Azarie Toon-Mills, brought her so much joy, hope, and strength to her life.

Lakesha was also a devoted and active member of St. Mark Deliverance Center, where she faithfully served on the Youth Ministry, Food Bank Ministry, and Usher Board until her health failed her. She also enjoyed shopping, writing, socializing, and spending time with her loved ones and friends.

Lakesha embodied resilience, charisma, passion, love, laughter, and selflessness. She was kind-spirited, a warrior, God fearing, and entertaining. She was a loving mother, daughter, GiGi, aunt, sister, niece, cousin, and friend who cherished family and friendship. Her trust and love for God showed up in many aspects of her life.

Lakesha was preceded in death by her mother, Robin Porter; father, Rudolph Lewis; son, Carlton Leary, Jr.; sister, Wendy Porter; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Mary Mills; paternal grandparents, John and Virginia Lewis.
