LaGretta M. Hammond passed away peacefully April 11, 2018. She was born in Norfolk, VA. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School class of 1963 and loved the marching band. She was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan and an avid Bingo player. She was the owner of “A Touch of Patience” shared housing and also retired as the Director of Security of Lake Taylor Hospital in Norfolk, VA.
LaGretta was predeceased by her parents, Charlie and Virginia Dickens; sister, Ruth Davis; brothers, Isaac Jarman, Alton Batts and Charles Dickens; husband, Manuel N. Hammond, Sr. and Marilyn Hernandez (partner).
She leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Faye Godfrey (Robert) and three children, Arlene Brown (David), Manuel Hammond Jr. (Loleta) and Michael N. Hammond (Yolanda); ten grandchildren, Letrese Hammond-Walker (Charles), Theron Hammond, Manuel Hughes, Danicia Brown, Chambrea Hammond, Ja’leta Hammond and Kenyah Hammond. A special great granddaughter, Lamisha Hammond, and a host of great grandchildren and friends.
