My oldest son Kyree Davon Blackledge, 21 passed away January 23, 2023. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on May 21, 2001. He graduated from Nansemond River High School on July 31, 2019.
I really don’t have the words for the pain and hurt I feel, but Kyree, aka “Ky”, “Ky Rocket”, “KD”, “fatduck”, was a free spirit. He was loving, caring, and very loyal. He was so friendly and got along with everyone. He had a smile that lit up the room, and a laugh that was contagious. To know him was to love him. Kyree was a burst of energy and full of love. He loved to play games, i.e. card games, board games, PlayStation, Xbox, etc. Growing up he was very active in soccer and football, boy were there a lot of practices and games attended.
It was just me and Kyree for 19 years and he would always say “I got you ma!” We were joined with his little brother Amari Braxton, July 31, 2020. He was so excited to become a big brother. Then it was “I got yall ma!” He is my heart, he is my first, he is my Ky, he is our angel.
Kyree is preceded in death by his father Alvin Lee Blackledge; his grandfather, Joseph Denard; great grandmothers, Faith Taybron, and Evelyn Morgan; great grandfather, Richard Morgan; Auntie, Crystal Morgan; and cousin, Lakita Morgan.
He is survived by his mom, Ebony Jones; brother, Amari Braxton; sister, Diamond Blackledge; grandmother, Carla Abner, and Dale Blackledge; grandfather, Ernest Abner; uncles, aunts, nieces, and a host of cousins and friends.
