Kyara Monay Fleming “Kee Kee Boo” 26, was born June 29, 1992 and passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019, with her family by her side. Kyara was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. She was a high school graduate of Matthew Fontaine Maury High School, class of 2011. She has always been known for her warm smile and contagious laugh. Her loving heart and caring ways could win you over easily. She loved her family and was the “Boss” of her two sisters. Kyara was very easy going and loved to go to the mall. During this battle with cancer, she never showed any signs of giving up, instead she smiled and said, “I got this.” As long as she could look left and see her dad, and look right and see her mom, she fought even harder because she knew her parents were wherever she was, and would question anything. She loved to see her dad “Go Off” if something wasn’t right. She nicknamed him “Drill Sergeant.” She also enjoyed riding out with her mom, crossword puzzles, eating fried chicken and spending lots time in her telephone.
You couldn’t catch her without it.
Upon graduating from high school, she worked for Versibility Resources, stocking supplies and food on Navy Ships and NOB. She later began working at the Commissary as a Night Stocker on NOB until her diagnosis. She loved working. Kyara Fleming Kyara is redeceased by her grandfather Frederick E. Pettus, Jr.; aunt, Cynthia I. Talley and uncle, Clifton V. “Lil Honey” Brown. Surviving are her parents, Kenneth G. Fleming (Yavondia) and Kathy
L. Brown (Fred Walker); sisters, Kennay and Destiny of Virginia Beach, VA; step brothers, DaQuan and Stefan of Virginia Beach, VA; a brand new nephew/ son, Karsen X. Fleming; godsister, Aunysia Newkirk; grandparents, Nathaniel Brown, Sr., Willie B. Brown and Diana Fleming of Norfolk, VA; uncles, Nathaniel Brown, Jr. , Frederick E. Fleming, Terry Gray all of Norfolk, VA and Frederick E. Pettus, III of Chesapeake, VA.; aunts, Sonja Poitier-Ward of
Suffolk, VA, Sonya Fleming, Gloria Arthur, Queenie Stephenson, and Terry Pettus-Ramos of Norfolk, VA; Kimberly Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA and Debbie Pettus, Teleria Riddick and Star Smith of Chesapeake, VA; special friends, Jyriah Jones and Zachary Caine and Darryl Bright; bonus grandparents, Ceola Singleton, Lynette McDaniel, Betty Deloatch and Brenda and Steven Brown; bonus uncles, Brian Johnson, Corey Turner, Linwood Bennett, Jr., Patrick O’Neal, Ricky Butler, Gregory “Bim” Fleming; bonus aunts, Karen Banzouzi, Janrace Newkirk, Valerie Newkirk, Alecia McCoy, Karen Pittman, Erica Lee, Tara Hollis, Tray Parrish, Annie Bright, Essence and Tiffany Hassell; Anglea Williams-Holmes and Gwen Williams.
