Kevin L. (KJ) Sivells Jr was called home to reunite with his mother on June 26, 2021. KJ was born on January 23, 1998, to Kevin and Alletta (Griffin) Sivells. He was a member of the East Hartford High School graduating class of 2016. He volunteered at East Hartford Community Television, where he directed episodes of a local sports show. He recorded town meetings and special events throughout the city as well.
KJ was a gentle big guy with a soft voice and a big heart. He was affectionally called “Juice” by his Granny and Auntie Lynn because, as they say, “he just so big and soft.” Many were drawn to him by his smile and personality. He enjoyed having a good laugh while talking with family and friends. Just hearing his infectious laugh would cause everyone to laugh with him. KJ’s beautiful spirit will live on in everyone’s heart. He was a great son, grandson, brother, nephew, and friend.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Alletta Griffin-Sivells, his Granny (Thelma Holley), and his great aunt and uncle (George and Carrie Davis).
KJ is survived by his father and step-mother Kevin Sr (Tammy) of MD, grandmother Margaret Griffin, grandfather Felix Sivells Jr (Liz), three brothers (Randy and Nathaniel Griffin, Justin Strong), sister Karri Sivells, four extraordinary friends from Connecticut (Olivia Wright, Emoniee Williams, Jose Jurado, and Dalon Scott), thirteen aunts and uncles, ten great uncles and aunts, many cousins and great friends.
