With heavy hearts and overflowing love, we remember and celebrate the life of Kevin Andre Jorden, affectionately known as “Squirt,” who departed this life on June 6, 2025. Born on August 3, 1969, to the late Naomi and Melvin Jorden. Kevin lived a life full of laughter, love, and unwavering devotion to those around him.
Family was everything to Kevin. He leaves behind his beloved wife Annette Davenport, his children Sha’Quita Haynie and La’mar Haynie, and seven grandchildren who brought him endless pride and joy: Nakiya Haynie, Isis Haynie, Ma’Quetia Davis, Le’Nise Davis, Sylvia Davis, William Davis, and Elijah Haynie.
Kevin was one of a loving group of siblings who were close to his heart: Julian McNair (Debra), Anthony McNair (Donna), Freddie Jorden (Darveen), Candace Jorden and Gail Jorden, along with his late brother Alvyn Jorden. He also had a deep bond with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and cousins.
A man of ambition and talent, Kevin pursued his education at the Tidewater Maritime Training Institute in 1989 and earned his Business Management degree from Paul D. Camp Community College in 1994. With skilled hands and a strong work ethic, Kevin launched his own successful maintenance and repair business, Qwik Fix LLC.
In June 2023, Kevin’s heart for service and desire to honor the legacy of his late uncle, Bishop Willie R. McNair, led him to establish Bishop’s Helping Hands– a nonprofit focused on restoring unity in the community. His mission was clear: to give back, uplift others, and be a light in the lives of those who needed it most.
As we say goodbye, we hold tightly to the legacy Kevin leaves behind. Let us laugh louder, love harder, and live with intention just like he did.
Rest peacefully, Kevin. Your light still shines in every heart you’ve touched.
