Kelvin T. Jennings

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, our beloved father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Kelvin T. Jennings (better known as Kenny), entered into eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sarah Jennings, and his brother, William Jennings.
 
Kelvin was born in Chesapeake, Virginia, to James and Sarah Jennings on August 25, 1959. He lived with his family in the Crestwood Manor Community until they relocated to Northern Virginia in 1973.  Kelvin graduated from Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1977. After graduation, He returned to the Tidewater Area and was employed with the Ford Motor Company in Norfolk, Virginia, for several years.  Kelvin also served in the Merchant Marines from 1993-1997, traveling to Spain, Panama, and other international ports.  He was also well-known in the local community as a mobile mechanic.  If you had a problem with your car, “Kenny was the man to call.” Kelvin greeted everyone with a warm, infectious smile and was always willing to help anyone when needed.
 
Kelvin was raised in the Church and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a member of The Prince of Peace Praise Center in Norfolk, Virginia. His favorite praise song was “He Knows My Name.”
 
He leaves to cherish his memories, his son Kenyell, daughter Kenya High (Devarus), granddaughter Kianga, grandsons, Kyri, Jerry, Jerrion, and great-grandson Kaysan. Three brothers: John Dozier (Fran), James Jennings, Jr. (Peggy), and Leonard Jennings (Liz). Three sisters, Marian Robinson, Sandra Jennings, and Lisa Jennings, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. His extended family includes his devoted fiance, Annette Butler, and her children, Anthony Butler (Sasha) and Amber Jones (Eric), grandchildren, Coreyonna, Heaven, Arianna, Yauny’Ne, Kayia, Jaiden, Justice, Kai; and great-granddaughter Alena. He was affectionately known as “Pop Pop.”
