Keith Parsons, a lifelong resident of Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away in his hometown, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to his family. Born on January 27, 1959, Keith’s life was a testament to the power of joy and the importance of family.
Keith was the beloved son of Thaddeus Parsons and Beulah Taylor. He was preceded in death by his cherished brothers, Thomas Parsons and Thaddeus Parsons (Cheryl). Keith’s memory will forever be cherished by his devoted children, Keyana Porter and Dominique Parsons, their mother Josephine Porter, and his loving siblings, Shirlene Shoffner (William), Kenneth Parsons, and Harriette Riddick. He was also the proud grandfather to six beautiful grandchildren: Shalaijae, Domoni, Domari, Kailani, Raziya, and Xzavier, who brought immense joy to his life.
Keith’s formative years were spent in Portsmouth, where he graduated from Churchland High School. As a star football player, he demonstrated not only his athletic talent but also his spirit and determination. Keith furthered his education at Norfolk State University, where he earned a degree in Industrial Arts, laying the foundation for his successful career. He dedicated his professional life to his work as a sheet metal mechanic, where his expertise and attention to detail led him to the esteemed position of an inspector. Keith’s colleagues admired him for his skill and work ethic, but it was his infectious humor and warm personality that left an indelible mark on everyone he worked with.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Keith had a zest for life that was evident in his hobbies and interests. He enjoyed playing chess and shooting pool. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. Keith loved taking them on outings, whether it was a day at the beach or simply playing at home. His grandchildren will always remember these moments with fondness, carrying forward the lessons and love he imparted.
Keith was a man who embodied happiness and comedy. His laughter was contagious, and he had an incredible ability to make others laugh, even during the toughest times. As a true family man, he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Keith will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His spirit will live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love carried in the hearts of his family and friends. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man who brought joy to many, and a legacy that will endure. Rest in peace Keith Parsons, your laughter and love will echo in our hearts forever.

September 20, 2024 at 11:17 amTo the family: I will always remember my brother-in-law at his best. Will miss him telling me one of his saying “I liked you yesterday” after our many back and forth teasing. He loved his Keyana and Dominque and the grandchildren very much. Should you need anything please let me know. I also know that my sister, Josephine, was loved and loved him no matter how they went back and forth.
If not he would not have come to her beg and call each time she called him. Love ya’ll.
