Keith Randolph Riddick, affectionately known as Randy, departed this life Saturday morning, October 19, 2019. Randy was born at Portsmouth Naval Hospital to James and Gladys Riddick, and grew up in Norfolk, VA. Randy was predeceased by his father James Riddick, his sister Pamela Ann Riddick, his grandsons, Joel Green and Jamel Griffin.
Randy was a graduate of Granby High School where he was well known as a local basketball star. He also attended Norfolk State University. As a career, Randy chose the Merchant Seaman. He served as an Oiler Maintenance Utility worker for over thirty years with Seafarers. This career choice enabled him to travel the world. Randy was a lover of Jazz and all things R&B. He loved his vast collection of albums as well as artwork displaying his love for his culture. Randy was well known for the way that he dressed. He was one of the “flyest cats” on the East Coast. Randy was a lover of luxury vehicles, especially the Cadillac. He loved spending time with friends and family and watching his Washington Redskins. He loved photography and kept albums of all the places he traveled as well as the people that he loved.
Randy met the love of his life, Paulette C. Riddick, 53 years ago. They were together for 52 years and married for thirty-eight years, residing in the city of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Paulette C. Riddick; his mother, Gladys Riddick; his five children Jemma George-Tucker, De’Val Rivers, Kenya D. Featherston (Jesse), Keisha Green, and Katrish A. Stevenson(Amos); his brother Kelvin Riddick; thirteen grandchildren Jonathan George, Jaston George, Thomas Tucker, II, Devin Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Joseph Johnson, De”Val Rivers, Jr., Jonovan Johnson, Elias A. Shaw, Elisa C. Featherston, Elia J. Featherston, Breeze B. Patterson, and Skylar A. Stevenson; great grand-children, Dakyah Johnson, Kennedy Russell, Jordan Johnson, Jour’nee A. Williams and Neah E. Shaw. Other survivors are aunts, Mary Stroud (Ed), and Ethel Spencer, uncle Anthony Riddick, cousins Todd Jones and Betty Snead, nieces Jasmine Davis, Y’toshia Hodges, Shell Matthews, Jalisa Matthews, and a nephew Kelvin Matthews, and a host of family and friends.
