It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Keith Robert Johnson, Sr., a devoted husband, loving father, and proud Navy veteran, who passed away on January 21, 2025, at the age of 64.
Born on August 1, 1960, in Brooklyn, NY, Keith lived a life defined by service, hard work, and love for his family. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy for 20 years, retiring in 2003 as an Electrician’s Mate First Class (EM1). Throughout his distinguished career, he exemplified dedication, leadership, and a steadfast commitment to duty.
After retiring from the Navy, Keith continued to make a difference in the maritime world, working as a contractor with Mission Technology at Newport News Shipbuilding. There, he applied his expertise and dedication, leaving a lasting legacy in the industry.
Keith had a lifelong passion for electronics, spending countless hours tinkering, repairing, and creating gadgets. His inventive spirit and curiosity inspired everyone around him, and his warm presence brought joy to all who knew him.
Keith is survived by his wife, Charitta Johnson; his children, Keith Johnson, Tashawn Johnson, LaShette Johnson, Deja Kiziah, and Marcus Chandler; his father, Ulysses Johnson; eight cherished grandchildren; and a host of family, including his sister, cousins, aunts, nieces, and nephews. His family and friends will forever treasure his memory and the countless ways he enriched their lives.
