Kathy Lynette Harris departed on December 9, 2018 at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg. She was born in Chesapeake on December 5, 1961. Kathy was the daughter of Rosa L. Joyner and the late Charles E. Joyner. She was educated at Indian River High School.
Kathy worked for the Janitorial Department for Chesapeake Public School System. Kathy was a very energetic person. For whatever reason, Kathy loved jumping fences and kept a baseball bat in her car. she loved playing sports; softball in particular. Whenever you saw Kathy, she had a honey bun and a Pepsi. Kathy presence is irreplaceable. She will truly be missed.
Kathy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 33 years, James “Ken” Harris, Sr. of Chesapeake; three children, Michael Joyner, Ashia Joyner and James Harris, Jr.; her mother, Rosa L. Joyner; three brothers, Calvin Johnson, Anthony Joyner, and Charles Joyner, Jr.; six sisters, Barbara Brewer, Justine Sesson, Regina Macklin, Virgil Hill, Carolyn Johnson and Robin Joyner; seven grandchildren, four stepsisters, a granddaughter and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
