Our beloved Kariem A. Bilal “John Henry” departed this life to be with God, early Monday morning on May 21, 2018. He was born in Virginia to Walter Riddick and Maebell Levy Pegueseon January 28, 1955. He was one of thirteen children, six brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

John was a beautiful spirit. He loved his mother, wife and family. John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved the duties of being a “pop-pop”. He wore his duties as a father and grandfather proudly. It didn’t matter what he did with his hands, he did it well. Some would call him a perfectionist. John attended Norfolk Public Schools and many trade schools where he excelled. Kariem was employed with Smithfield Packing Company, Norfolk Naval Shipyard and upon retirement, he found great pride as a ticket attendant for Regal McArthur Center. He was always encouraging and greeted everyone with a smile. John enjoyed life and was a free-spirited person. He took great pride in his attire and being presentable. He knew no stranger.

He was predeceased by his sister, Idell Hughee and brothers, John, Silas, Kelly, Edward, Prince and Nathaniel . Kariem leaves to cherish his wife, Linda D. Williams-Bilal; one daughter, Tiara White affectionately called “TR”; two sons, Willie Clayton Williams (Angie) of (TX) and Delton Q. Williams of VA; his sisters, Anne Ruth Peguese of Lake City, SC, Mary Anthony (Arthur) of Brooklyn, NY, Helen Davis of Norfolk, VA and a very devoted sister, Deborah Ware of Norfolk, VA; brothers, Willie
Lee Peguese of New York, NY and Walter Riddick of Chesapeake, VA; granddaughters, Shada Alexander, Cassandra Morris, Diamond Williams and his heart, Cameren White; one grandson, Jarquis Loftin and four great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Tyrone (Cecilia) Williams; special niece and nephew, Tonya and “Cubby”; special friends, Keith, Sandra, Paula, Caroline
Haynes and Arnetta White-Brown; two Godchildren, Linda and Joy; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many dedicated friends.
