Joyce Ray was born July 24, 1934 and passed away Thursday morning, June 24, 2021 in the comfort of her own home. Joyce was an only child who grew up in Elizabeth City, NC with her cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Smith, Sr; oldest daughter, JoAnn Chesnut and her two youngest children, Herminia Smith and Herman Smith, Jr. Joyce has two surviving children, Shionn Warren and Michael Gillard; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was blessed to live such a wonderful life, being able to raise her own kids, her grandkids and great-grandchildren.
Joyce Ray was loved by family and friends dearly and will truly be missed until we all meet again. Rest In Paradise
