On Monday, February 4, 2019 our lord and savior called to rest our beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Joseph Henry Thornton (Joe) was born on March 6, 1946 to William Howard and Berlyn Matilda Thornton. He was employed at the Marine Hydraulics for over 20 years. During his time with the company he received many awards and certificates of certification.
Joe was a very hardworking provider, father, brother, and relative. One of his favorite ways to provide for his family was gifting to each relative with a small donation from his heart. He had a dominant passion for music, donating and hosting charity events to make his many friends, family and strangers smile. We will surely miss the favorite uncle role that was played in our lives.
He leaves to cherish his memories his two daughters, Latonya Winfield and Latashia Hurst; siblings, William Thornton, Louise Miller, Patsy Thornton and Shirley Spruil; grandchildren, Akeem, William, and Shawn; great-grands, Elijah, Serenity; nieces,
Wanda, Ronita, Darlene; nephews, Edward, Shelton, Ralph, Michael, and many more relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Edward Miller and nephew, William Miller. We do not morn a death; we celebrate a life. He is
beyond suffering beyond worldly, and in God’s hands.

February 13, 2019 at 5:18 pmTo the Family, so sorry for your loss. Hope you will be comforted in knowing that Joseph has the prospect of being resurrected, healthy (in the flesh), to Paradise Earth just as Jehovah God has promised. In fact , the vast majority will enjoy everlasting life right here on earth as God had intended from the beginning. God’s Kingdom will do this under the rule of Jesus Christ.
