Joseph Brown Reese, Jr. was born December 20, 1940 to Besty Pettaway and Joseph Brown Reese, Sr.
He was recently preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Marie (Speller) Reese. He leaves to cherish and carry on his legacy, his son Leandrew Reese (Angela), daughter Kesha Reese-Brewer (Anderson), and daughter-in love Juanda Dixon. His grand children Terri Parham, Leandrew Dixon (Kelsie), Keena Reese-Brown, Paris Turner (Mike), Aaron Reese (Kamala), Keaira Reese-Brewer, Neshaundra Brown (Kevin), Andrea Brewer-Dorsey (Jessica), Latia Brewer, Ashley Shepherd, Mary Hill, Adrienne Brewer, Krystal Brewer and a large host of nieces, nephews, great grand children, family and friends.
Joseph, known to many as Mickey Reese was a BM1 (boatswain mate), son, brother, father and friend. Mickey didn’t go anywhere he didn’t make a friend. If he went to a new place by the time he left, he had formed friendships that would last life times.
As he got older all he wanted was a burger and his Jerry Springer – oh and a hit aka a shot of whiskey. He was not always easy to please or get along with; he loved fussing with Marie about everything; “he didn’t need no hair cut”, “he’s not sick” . . . It was truly funny to watch them interact with one another. What you could always see no matter how often you saw them fuss – how much they loved one another.
