Joseph A. Watson, Jr. was born on August 18, 1958. Joseph A. Watson was affectionately known as Bobby or Shoes. Bobby was born in Norfolk, VA, but often traveled back and forth from New Jersey when his parents relocated up North. Bobby attended the Norfolk Public School System for a brief time. Then, venturing out into the world doing different odd and end jobs. You could often find him working on cars and trucks—a skill he picked up from his father, Joseph Watson, Sr., after the passing of his dear father. Bobby always made sure his mother, Rosalee, would make it down south to spend her summers with him and his devoted life partner, Mary, until her passing. Bobby became the Patriarch of the family, making sure he always called and visited everyone from right here in Virginia, to New Jersey and North Carolina. Bobby worked with the City of Virginia. Beach was a custodian until his health declined and he could no longer work. Bobby leaves to cherish his fond memories, his faithful life partner/fiancée, Mary L. Hines; and her sons, Gary and Kenneth (Krista) Hines. Four sisters, Patricia Anne Watson, Carolyn Lee Watson, Rosa Lee Crowder (Bernard), and Joanne Lisa Crawford (Lewis).
Predeceased by one brother, Michael Eugene Watson, and one of his favorite nephews, Kevin Holmes. Nephews, Jamal N. Watson, Keith H. Watson, Rashan A. Watson, and Farrod A. Watson. Nieces, LaPrice O. Wetherington, Iyesha L. Watson, LaKeisha Watson, and Tammie Holmes. Great-nephews Johnathan, Kevin, Jahni, Khamarri, and Jahod. Great-nieces Shalisa, Tiara, and Tahja, and a host of other relatives and friends. Bobby will be greatly missed. But his humor will forever live in our hearts. Rest Up, ‘Til We Meet Again.
