Joni Melinda Samaan

Joni Melinda Samaan died on February 7, 2025, just short of her 50th birthday. She was born at Norfolk General Hospital. She grew up in Western Branch, Chesapeake, moving to Norfolk in 1989. She attended Maury High School, where she was in chorus. She worked with her father at Paine Webber UBS, then at Wachovia Securities and Geico. In December 2007, she married Rami Elias Samaan. They welcomed Ryan Elias Samaan in December 2008, he was her heart. Joni was predeceased by her father, Lindsey Coleman Stallings Jr., and her sister Jennifer Elaine Stallings. She is survived by her husband Rami, her son Ryan, her mother Valerie Stallings, and her aunt Sandy Stallings. Joni’s 27-year struggle with multiple sclerosis left her physically weakened but strong in spirit and voice.
