Jonathan Wright

Sunrise: February 9, 1965

Sunset: October 1, 2018

Early on Monday, October 1, 2018, in Cheverly, MD, Jonathan unexpectedly departed this life and entered into his final rest.  Jonathan was the third son born to James M. Wright Sr. and Joan Wright Sharp on      February 9, 1965.  Jonathan accepted Christ at an early age, and became a member of St. John’s African Methodist Episcopal Church in Norfolk, VA.  He was educated in Norfolk Public Schools.  After graduating from Maury High school, Jonathan studied one year of Architectural Design at Norfolk State University and  recently contemplated returning to school to complete this goal.  He enjoyed fishing, weight-lifting, drawing, traveling, spending time with his family, and watching football.  He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Over the course of his life, Jonathan remained true to himself and was real in all situations which allowed him to make friends with mere strangers on numerous occasions.  He impacted the lives of many along the way.  Jonathan remained a man of integrity with a strong sense of family ties.  He was fun-loving with deep convictions.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Angela Wright of Culpepper, VA, seven adult children: Alteno and Bridget Scott of Charlotte, NC; Darrell Keene of Norfolk;  Jordan Parks of Ohio; Artina Liriano (Christian) of Tampa, FL, Brandon Romero of Norfolk, and PFC Richard Moore of Fort Hood, TX; parents Joan Wright Sharp of Norfolk, James M. Sr. and Barbara Wright of Norfolk; siblings James M. Wright Jr. (Cleo) of Norfolk, Joseph Wright Sr. (Michele) of Norfolk, Electa Thompkins (Tamal) of Dover, DE, Kevin Hodges (Trinette) of Norfolk, and Orlene Sharp of Virginia Beach.  Also to cherish his memory are a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Jonathan will be remembered for his fearless attitude and ability to brighten the room with his infectious smile. May the memory of him and his love live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him.
