Johnnie Lee Baum, Sr. was born December 29, 1942 at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA to the late Charlie and Virginia
Harrell. He entered eternal rest on May 23, 2019. After a short stay with his family in Ahoskie, NC, they relocated back to Norfolk, VA where he attended Booker T. Washington High School. Johnnie started his career at Gills Coffee and finished
at Cargill, Inc as a Grain Elevator Operator. He enjoyed fishing, cooking for others, fixing and racing cars and watching his favorite football team “The Dallas Cowboys”. His favorite pastime was playing cards and dominoes with his beloved friends. Johnnie enjoyed life but the most important day of his life was accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife Annie Baum of Chesapeake, VA; four sons: Jonathan Baum (Lynnette) of Chester, VA, Johnnie Baum, Jr. (Janice) of Suffolk, VA, Terry Baum (Sherrill) of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeremiah McKenzie of Norfolk, VA; two daughters: Vartina Baum-Keith (Ron) of Chesterfield, VA, Xian Moore of Virginia Beach, VA. He also leaves five Grandkids: Cameron Baum, Madison Baum, Micki Baum, Kennedy Keith, Makenzie Moore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Johnnie also held a special place in his life and heart for his favorite nephew Arthur Eugene Moore.
Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For you are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

May 25, 2019 at 2:36 pmI am truly sorry for your loss, what really comforted me in my time of loss is the scripture@ Revelation 21:3&4 . Which gives us the wonderful promise of God wiping out every tear from our eyes and death being no more. I hope this promise from Jehovah will truly bring your family much comfort at this time.
