Joann C. Thomas

Joann Connie Thomas of Portsmouth, VA departed this life on November 5, 2018. Born June 30, 1952, she was a native of Norfolk, VA and attended Norfolk Public Schools. affectionately known as “Jody”, she was loving, caring and devoted to family. Jody worked
at NNSY as a housekeeper for many years. She was a great cook and famous for her “soul food”. She was a mother to EVERYONE! Jody was also known for speaking her mind, and being a die hard Redskins fan. She was a mother, aunt, sister, and best of all, a friend to us all.

Predeceased by: her mother, Addie Moore, father, Joseph Taylor, stepfather, William Bud Moore, sister, Carol Taylor Green, three brothers, Ronald Taylor, Terrance Taylor, Joseph Taylor. Leaves to cherish: Companion, Larry Copeland, one daughter, Yovonda Taylor, 2 sons, Earl “Boo Boo” Thomas, Dominique Thomas, 4 brothers, Angelo Taylor (Sherron), Lawrence Taylor, Ernest Taylor,Darrell Taylor (Deanna), Sister-in-law, Marilyn Taylor, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
