7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. 8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.  Romans 14:7-9

Jimmy Broadwater was born to the late Bertha Lou and James Henry Broadwater on October 23, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York.  He was the third  born out of five children.  He was affectionately known as Jim to a host of family and friends.

He earned his GED, and then  joined the United States Marine Corp in 1975 and served 4 years Honorable.  In his professional career he followed his dream of being a professional truck driver and joined the ranks of those who move goods all across the american landscape from one coast to the other;  his passion for driving the big rigs, meeting people, and sharing stories made life more abundant; follow your dreams they won’t lead astray but take you to new heights and give you that opportunity to grow in all ways possible. He loved bring that sense of good order learned in the Corp into this new and challenging profession.

He was a kind and compassionate man, who had a great sense of humor.  He loved to laugh. He was an impeccable dresser and ironed his clothes with creases for every occasion.  Jim also loved to work out. A good appearance was important to him.

Jim accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in his adult years around 2004-2005.  He entered eternal rest on July 28, 2018 in Norfolk, VA.  He will be greatly missed.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Bertha Lou and James Henry Broadwater, his brothers Stanley Broadwater and Sidney Broadwater, and his sister Bloncie Broadwater.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Rahan Hosford, a daughter, Nysheah Tatum (son-in-law, Jonathan Tatum), a grandson, Kyng Khari-Rezyn Tatum, one brother, Robert Broadwater, uncles, Lucias Williams, George Williams, and Teddy Williams, aunts, Bessie James,  Ellen Langford, and Hazel Lanford, a niece Cherokee Broadwater, and a host of relatives and friends.

Robert, you are in our hearts and prayers always. We ask that the LORD give you strength, love and comfort always, John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Robert you will forever be family.

    1Thessalonians:
13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
    Love, Grace, and Peace
