Jermaine L. Taylor, affectionately known as “Brezz,” was born on August 23, 1979, in Norfolk, VA, to Hattie Taylor Green and the late Geanie “Dickie” Hunter. He passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2024. Jermaine grew up in Tidewater Park and graduated from Granby High School. Jermaine’s life was defined by hard work, dedication, and unwavering love for his family.
To know Jermaine, he loved animals, westerns, movies, the Dallas Cowboys, and music. Jermaine was the life of the party wherever he went. From his hilarious jokes and dance moves, he was bound to bring good energy and vibes that were everlasting. Jermaine was a confidant to many. He listened with no judgment but always told you the truth about any situation. He accepted everyone as is, no matter the flaws. Jermaine spent his early years in the workforce doing carpentry and construction, where he built houses. He grew to love these skills over the years as time went on. After many years in the field, Jermaine transitioned into working as an installation/delivery worker. Jermaine worked for his close brother, Quentin Kearney and for TLT Courier, for twelve years.
Aside from being a hard worker, Jermaine was a loving father to his children. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to ensure his children’s needs and wants were always met. Being a great father was a job no one could come between. Jermaine would go against the world to have his children’s back, and that’s why they consider him “THE WORLDS’S DOPEST DAD!”
He leaves behind to cherish his memories of his mother Hattie Taylor-Green’s four daughters, Tajunae Dyson, Chermane Taylor, Lachelle Taylor, and Samoni Smallwood; three sons, Milton Fulford, Jermaine Taylor Jr. and LaDaniel Taylor; two grandchildren, Laquan and Kailani. The mothers of his children, Keisha Fulford and Danielle Dyson. His eight sisters, Theresa Saunders, Marie Baker (William), Latasha Taylor, Regina Gilliam (Wayne), Terry Hunter, Renee Hedgspeth, Jackie Hunter, and Debra Hunter-Albritton, four brothers Herman Taylor, Steve Taylor, Troy Taylor, and Gary Hunter, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jermaine may have perished in the physical form, but the effect he left will always be embodied within us. His impact on our lives shall strengthen each and every person to keep pushing as he did before he took his last breath. As he would say, “Ain’t nothing weak around here!” So keep the love, strength, and memories of Jermaine “Brezz/Youngbuck” flowing.
