Jennie Eve Charity

Jennie Eve Charity took her flight on March 6, 2025. She was born to the late Irene Stubbs on May 19, 1933, in Cumberland, VA. She was the second of five children. She married John L. Charity, Sr. and became a member of the United House of Prayer for All People in Newport News, VA. Out of this union, they had six children. She moved to Hampton, VA, and joined the Queen board at the United House of Prayer for All People in Hampton, VA. She remained steadfast in her post as a Queen until God called her home.

She graduated from high school in 1951. She attended Peninsula Business College and Thomas Nelson Community College (Now Virginia Peninsula Community College). She received an Associate degree in Education from Hampton University. Jennie Charity was employed by Hampton City Schools as a paraprofessional. She retired after 25 years. She was dedicated to her children and the United House of Prayer. She also enjoyed interior designing, negotiating contracts with businesses, teaching and mentoring young people, and she enjoyed the arts.

Jennie was predeceased by her mother, her brother, Wesley Stubbs, and two daughters, Jeanette Charity and Eve Blalock (Gregory). Left to cherish her memory are her sisters: Jeanette Sanderson of Norfolk, VA, Delores R. Moss (Joe) of Bronx, NY, Rosie Watson (Teddy) of Richardson, TX, both husbands deceased. Her children: Naomi J. Halsey (Daniel) of Virginia Beach, Irene Charity, Irma Charity both of Norfolk, VA, and John L. Charity, Jr. of Hampton, VA. Two grandchildren: Rasheeda Charity (Cornelius) and Woodrow Blalock. One great-granddaughter: Charlotte Jackson and a host of relatives, extended family, and friends.
