Jeannie Epps was born August 8, 1948 to the late Joe Sam & Georgianna Epps. An angel came and took her hand, Jeannie left this wordily word on June 6, 2018 at Sentara Rehabilitation Center in Norfolk Virginia. Jeannie was predeceased by her husband James Young (Benny).

Jeannie had a golden soul, anyone who ever came in contact with her always left with words of encouragement and wisdom. Jeannie was referred to by everyone has “Auntie Jeannie”, welcoming total strangers has family near and far. Jeannie had ” Special Children” she loved like her own: Toni Clarke, Lasheen (Lottie) Eubanks, Myasia Murry and Keisha Hills-Bowman and they loved her has their second mother. Jeannie’s favorite quote was always “Peace Be Still”.

Jeannie was a Norfolk native prior to living in New York. She retired from Young & Rubicum after 33years of service before returning to the place she called home “Norfolk”.

The pearly gates of heaven were open by her one and only son; Jason Tarrod Epps and her five siblings: Roxie Clair, Mozell Moore, James Epps, Roskar Epps and Lucy Smith. Now that’s what we call a “Family Reunion”.

Fond memories left behind; 2 grandsons; Jason Tarrod Epps Jr. and Jahmeek Jason Epps, 3 grand daughters: Jada Murry, Nylah Murry and Avia Clarke, 1 great grandson; Jahmeek Jason Epps Jr. all of Queens New York.

Auntie Jeannie will always be remembered by her special niece “Karen Spence” , great-niece Lavandra (Nikki) Dickens, family and dear friends.
