JEAN STEVENSON NESBIT
“SISSY”
Jean was born December 4,1961 in Portsmouth, VA and was raised in Cavalier Manor and was better known as Sissy to all. She attended Manor High School and later organized and remained the president of “The Lady Peridots” and various other clubs. She also played softball for Cavalier Manor Recreation League. She loved to party and have a good time. She was a jack of all trades. Professionally she was a cook, bartender, and a business owner. She was well known for organizing and catering several events. She never met a stranger and loved all people. She loved to attend church and was a praise dancer, choir member, and youth director. She knew the true meaning of family and would spread that infectious smile everywhere she went. She enjoyed cleaning and cooking in every place she planted her feet. She lived her life like everyday was her last. She loved everyone but most importantly she loved the youth.
Sissy survived by her parents Calvin and Barbara Stevenson. Her children DeAngela Wright, LaKishi Stevenson (Greg), and Calvin Stevenson II. Her 8 grandchildren DeYandre Smith, Lewis Smith Jr, Damian Sasser, ZA’Kyiaa Stevenson, Valtenio Stevenson, Calvin Stevenson III, Sean Stevenson, Loyalty Stevenson. One great grandchild Rylee Smith. Her brothers Barry
Stevenson Sr(Angie), James Stevenson(Jackie), Gary Stevenson(Sharon), Leslie Stevenson(Zakia) and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandmother Della Gray and granddaughter Neveah Stevenson.
