Profile of Life

“I have fought a good fight. I have kept my course. I have kept the faith.”

2 Timothy 4:7

Best known as “Michelle”, Jean Michelle Myers was born on January 6, 1963 to Arthur (deceased) and Bernice Robinson in Staten Island, New York. The oldest sibling of three, Gary and Ava Robinson looked up to their sister. From the fun times spent on Caroline and Metcalfe Street to the hot summer days spent in South Carolina these three knew that if they have each other every moment would be memorable.

She attended Curtis High School, known for it’s nursing program, Michelle quickly realized what she wanted to do with her life. She then attended Hunter College where her love for nursing blossomed and carried on through the remaining years of her life.

Michelle was devoted to loving and worshipping the Lord. She continued her worship by becoming a member of First Church of God in Christ where she also joined the choir and sang her praises to the Lord her God. Upon, leaving Staten Island, New York she moved to Virginia where she discovered her new church family and became a member of Living Waters Outreach Ministries.

There is a lot that could be said about Michelle. One of the things is, Michelle was not only a God fearing, family woman but she was also a hard worker. Working two jobs throughout her years came easy for her.

Michelle would go on to marry the love of her life, Dave Myers. This love/marriage would go on to last for the next 38 years of their lives and from this beautiful union came four children. Three sons, Dave “Dinc” Myers, Ramael and Danell Myers. One daughter, Shayna Myers.

From her love of shoes to making sure a trip down south to see her Aunt Gail, to the biggest Disney movie collection to her expert knowledge of everything that involved X-Men, Marvel and DC comics, Michelle enjoyed it all. Going to plays, out to dinner, to making sure her nails had the newest and hottest design. The type to set her own trends, she has a true passion for shopping whether it was online or going to the stores. Another past time for her was watching the Hallmark channel, any black and white western (a love she shared with her father and husband) and her undying love for anything that involved the sweet lovable character “Shirley Temple”.

Michelle leaves to mourn, husband,  Dave Myers; children,  Dave “Dinc” Myers, Ramael Myers, Danell Myers, Shayna Myers; Gary Robinson; sister, Ava Robinson; sister-in-law, Candace Robinson; mother,  Bernice Robinson; grandchildren,  Shayla, Pacha, Sunny, D`Andre, Idris, Jahmir, Jahmel, Autumn, Kalel, Mone`t ;  three aunts; three uncles; four nieces; two nephews; one grand-niece, one grand-nephew and  a host of cousins and friends.

When I met Michelle, she had a smile on her face that would light up a room. She was a joy to be around because she was real. I thought we would have more time to spend together but God had other plans. He took this beautiful flower to add to His garden. She’s now smiling on the other side. Thank you Lord for allowing her to interject her presence into my life. I will always love and cherish the little time we spent together.

Rest in heaven sweet angel. My fondest memories are the Saturdays Michelle spent mentoring me and other teenage girls with the Young Women’s Christian Council. She helped make a positive mark in the lives of others that cannot and will not be erased or forgotten.

Our sincere love and prayers to you for the loss of such a wonderful woman of God. Thank you for sharing this with us!

To know Michelle was to love her. Her smile was bright, and her spirit was rich! She was hard working and fun loving! A true talent as well! Singing and Directing the Outreach Gospel Choir in Staten Island was some of the best times we shared. We will miss you Michelle, but we know that we will see you again!

    Grace and Peace,
    Jewell, Robyn and Lynn

    Robinson Family

I just had to let you know how deeply saddened I am to hear of the passing of Michelle. She was a very special person and friend.
The Bible says that “Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.” I pray that God will bless your family and give you the strength to carry on without her.

I will say a special prayer today in honor of her memory and thanks for having had the opportunity to know her and count her among my “Caroline Street Family”. I will pray for your family.

    God Bless You Mrs. Robinson.

    In Faith & Sympathy,

    Alice Bibbins

Jean, my heart is broken. When I learned of your passing I was so taken. You have been such a wonderful person, nurse and friend to my family in New York. You have care for my son, Jesse for so many years and when you have decided to leave us, I was so sad but I was happy to know that you were enjoying your life finally..

I know that you are in good hands with the lord to which you’ve devoted so much of your life too.

We love you and will miss you dearly.

Peace be with your family….Love, Cyndi, Jesse and Dan
